Rear Shock Bushings
On Memorial Weekend we were 4wheeling and I began to hear a horrible noise from the back. I looked underneath and noticed that the bottom shock bolt fell out and the shock was stripping the inside of my rim. I took the shock off for the weekend and I figured the rubber bushings would be easy to find. I went to every autoparts store within 30 miles and nothing. I finally went to the hardware store and bought some rubber stoppers drilled holes in the and that is what I am using. I am concerned how long they will last, does anybody know where I can get some new ones. Everybody has told me that they are only sold with the shock, this can't be true, can it? They are Bistiens.

Anyone out there have any used shocks? Hopefully so, then they can send you a bushing. I would imagine the hardware store rubber part you got is a good temp fix but I would not continue to travel on them. I could see the rubber shredding and you ending up replacing a shock mount.

Every auto parts store I've ever been to has some type of generic rubber bushings. I've even bought them once or twice and made them work. You should be able to find something.
Here is a webpage of nothing but urethane shock bushings. Search google for Energy Suspension, Daystar, or "shock bushings" and you should find some.
