Rear Sag ~ 99 4runner Ltd. 4x4 ~ Coil Springs FIX
So My 99 4runner has the rear sag bad and now its getting so bad that the truck kind of sort of starts to wag aft whilst driving. I guess some guys out there might know what I'm talking about?
I had new front suspension put on last summer. Then the sway bar came off one time... Anyways
Q: Obviously the springs in the rear are shot. What Springs should I put in there to fix. I want the rear to be a little higher than the front and I just want some more because yes I haul a trailer and weight in the back always~
I've heard talk of different sizes, people seem to be all over the map on new spring sizes? If I had to guess... I'd say I want the back end to lift at least 4" from where it is now.
And off the wall Q: MAybe theres a quicker fix like some fabricated rubber thingy? And Yes I have explored the Air bag Idea. Actually kind of like it. ~
So just seeing if anyone could reccommend a 'size' of spring. Maybe some tundra springs?
Thanks

Air shocks. Monroe part number MA700. They can be found online for $70. I've had them on my 4Runner for over 6 years now, towed all kinds of crap around including several cars and trucks, my boat, but just last month they blew out due to me towing a 9k worth of tractor behind the 4Runner. Not sure what happened, possibly blew a seal or an air line. They are a direct bolt on, you just have to drill out the lower rubber bushings and run your air lines. They are great, you can level the truck just how you want it to match the front, or you can jack it up, works great to eliminate sag when towing.

or

@ ADAM F ~ Sounds like the munroe MA700's are the best option.
Can I ask you...
1. What pressure(s) did you run them at?
2. How much lift can you achieve? I want about 3" from present location. 2" Sag + 1"
3. How'd they 'Feel' I know they're adjustable, i'm looking for a 'Cushy' feel yet mechanically solid. 6 years is pretty kick ass thou. I always have tools in back and I tow a little trailer sometimes with a Quad (Like 500lbs Tongue wieght)
4. Did you install a compressor on board or did you just add or substart as neccessary?
5. I assume this will work on the 99 4Rnr?

The rear end can be jacked up 2 inches or so higher than the front end. Full pressure is about 120psi, you can adjust them to your liking so its not too stiff and sits level. They felt firm when fully pumped up and soft when aired down, but my rear springs are saggy.
I'm going to replace the springs before I add another set of air shocks.

The old man emu (OME) is a great suspension for 4runners. It will out it 2 inches higher than factory ride height and if you get the heavy duty then it will allow more towing weight
