Rear Control Arm Mount Problems

Rear Control Arm Mount Problems
I recently noticed that the mount for my rear passenger side Control Arm is pretty badly bent....bent enough so that the rear sway bar comes in contact with the 3rd member. The axle is also shifted forward some on the passenger side. Here are a few pics to describe the problem. Anyone know who would make a rear control arm mount? I'm looking to get something stronger than what i have, but will settle for the stock equivalent if i have to. I realize the old mount will have to be cut off and the new one welded on, i just need the mount itself, ready to be welded on. Here are a few pics to describe the problem. Thanks in advance.

Considering how bad it is bent, it doesn't shake badly at all, only around 55-60 mph....i do get some annoying squeaks though

i did to until i got some lithium grease and slapped all over the bushings. i got a rattle can version vs the straight grease and after 2-3 times spraying on the bushing, it stopped

go get one from toyota....
nice damage... at least its not on the gas tank side... those links are really easy to cut off.. be carful on the reweld to make sure you get it in the correct spot, or your thrust angle will be off.

you could make a new one using thicker plate. but yeah, defintely make sure it is in the right place. might want to upgrade to schaefers control arms with the RE joints for streangth.

somehow this thread caught my attention to an old thread that bamachem posted. as i was afraid, his new beefier rod will likely to bend his mount if excessive load being carried. seeing this, his new rod will likely to shear off the mounts instead of bending it.

I would call Dan over at http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com
They are making replacements for the fjc and 4th gen 4runner. Since our bracket is offset I have yet to see anyone make a good aftermarket one. But ruffstuff might be willing to make some for us if we get enough interest. I know mine will need to be replaced in the near future also.
Nice part is they are using really thick metal and selling the fjc ones at a really nice price.

I would take it to a reputable body shop with a frame straightening experience to:
1. Get it straightened back to spec since the rear alignment is measured in fractions of an inch and your local welder or off-road shop may not have the equipment or know-how to measure getting your rear axle properly centered.
2. Either beef up the old mounts or torch them off and put on some sturdier stuff.

if all you need is a OE replacment toyota will sell it.. think of how they fix rigs that get in wrecks....
but if you want to beef up both sides, those show a few posts up look killer... but from what I have seen this really isnt a common problem..

Yea, i'm sure toyota well sell it, it's just a matter of whether the toyota one would be more expensive than buying a beefed up one. I am definitely going to look into the suggestions mentioned in the earlier posts.
