Re-Flashing ECU for Tranny Swap?
So I'm getting back into the mood to swap for a manual tranny. I had a buddy tell me today that instead of swapping for a manual ECU, just have someone re-flash my auto ECU so it is programmed for a manual. He says he has seen it done before on a Dode Dakota, but I am kinda skeptical. Anyone heard of re-flashing to this extent? If it were to really work, it would spare me a ton of headache and that for many people here trying to do a tranny swap. Thanks for any info

Sadly not an option for our ECU's. Can't do a darn thing to them.
They do this all the time with GM/American ECU's though. Heck those are darn near full stand alones, can tune just about everything on them. I so wish we could do that.
