I'm rebuilding my 3.0 and am waiting for headers.
Downey can't say for sure when they will have some ready.
NW off road has some in stock and says theirs are better.
Should I wait for Downey or are the NW headers good too?

NWOR hates their customers. Don't even think about returning anything you buy from them (even their catalog says that). I think Downey is gaining a little bit better reputation, while NWOR doesn't really care about theirs. Do a search and you won't find many (if any) people saying anything good about NWOR.

Go with Downey ceramics. Have you checked www.truckperformance.com ? They have good prices on Downey headers.

I dont know anything about NWOR, but I can tell you this. I could not get ahold of anyone from Downey. In fact, I couldnt find a number or website for them anywhere. So instead of fumbling around looking for it, I just went with the Edelbrock's. Since you have a different motor, and Edelbrock doesnt make anything for you, I would lean toward the Downey's. I hear great things about the Downey's and the 3.0. Have fun!

I ordered a Downey a front cross member last year. It was a bad experience. First, they didn't have the part on hand. Second, the manufactered part didn't have a zinc coating and had to be return to the manufacturer. Third, I had to call Downey once a week for four months because didn't provide any updates. Heck,
Downey didn't even inform me when it was shipped.

I went with Downeys and got them from TruckPerformanceCenter, Scott gave the link.

TPC were _great_ in terms of service and price. They had the crossover and collector in stock and shipped them out immediately. The headers themselves were to be drop-shipped from Downey in 7-10 days.

10 days comes, and I call for an update. TPC put me on hold and called Downey. Downey bumped the shipping estimate out another 4-5 weeks. I wasn't too happy, but there wasn't much I could do.

4 weeks later, I got a shipping notification from Downey. 3 days after that, I had the headers. They've since been installed, and I simply love 'em.

I hear that it's pretty "normal" for Downey to be running 4-5 weeks behind in production. Kinda' sucks, but if you can find them in stock somewhere, I think they're a great value.

I bought them from NWOR a year a half ago, and love them. I've heard lots of bad things about NWOR, but they say that heir headers are decent, and they're made to bolt up to the stock exhaust, so you won't have to drive it to an exhaust place with open headers......or you can buy an additional adapter from Downey to make theirs bolt up to the stock exhaust.

??? Is an adapter something particular to the 3.0? Mine bolted right up, but I've got a 3.4.

Yes, it's for the 3.0, around $100 I think.

I vote Downey. Everything I have from them bolts on and gave improved performance that were noticeable!
