Not those darn birds?!#%!
Well, serves me right for parking under a tree.
Just had the truck detailed, too.
Birds sent some yuckky earthbound messages down onto my nice and shiney hood. When I washed them off, a dull residue remained.
Short of having the whole buffing job done all over again, is there a good short term fix for this? To get rid of the dull area which are now a constant reminder of just how toxic this bird˟˟˟˟˟ is?
Thank a lot!
Rob

Short term fix is a pellet gun. Sorry, just had to add that. Can you run your vehicle through a commercial wash only and then wipe back to a nice, shiny buff? I spent all day Sunday, washing and apply Zymol, only to have it storm all morning!

Certain bird crap eats through clear coat. So, you are out of luck. It happened to me before too, it sucks. But, you can take the bite out of the "stain" by polishing it. Stupid birds.

Rob,
I carry a pre-soaped sponge (old one) in a ziplock bag. I usually have a bottle of water too so I just wet the sponge and wipe. Better than letting it eat the paint.

Yes, Bob, but. . .
Bob, the implication of the ziplock bag & sponge is that you're right there when the event happens. But more often then not, you're sipping a beverage in the house, or seeing a film, or visiting when the dastardly deed happens.
The stuff sets quickly under the sun. Then I guess the answer is you're ˟˟˟˟˟ out of luck.

.......
Griot's Garage has the "Speed Shine" for this. I've been browsing through their catalog and they advertise that cleaner as such.

Rob,
Well, even after a few hours, soaking it will loosen it up and allow you to wipe it off. Its pretty damn gross, but you'll be surprised how easy it comes off. Try it sometime.
