Non Flare SR5 door on Flared SR5 truck?
I'm thinking of buying Norcal's door and having it painted to match my truck and put my flare on it.
I got a really big crease in my door, and had to glue up my weather stripping so water doesn't get down in it. I'd liked to reclaim that window, and the estimate is about $600 and that was the low one at the shady show where I kind of knew the guy by proxy.
How big a pain would you guys think it would be to remove the old chrome trim, punch the holes into the door for the flare attachments, and attach the flares, as well has sanding priming and painting it.
I was thinking that I could just sand and prime it myself, and then take it somewhere to have it painted. Any guesstimates as to what it might cost to paint a whole door.
Thank you
Bill

I think on the flare-less 4runners, that skinny chrome trim is just on the wheel well, not attached to the door. It shouldn't be that bad for a body shop to repaint it for you, especially if you strip off all of the inside trim and parts and just take them the sheet metal.
It should be pretty straight forward. You might need to get some new clips/hardware from a dealer to put your flare back on. Call some body shops and just ask how much to repaint just a door...
