keep the 4runner or buy a taco?
I was just thinking, last weekend at champion creek I tried to get up another trail, had it in 4-low 1st gear and gave it plenty of gas but it just wouldnt go up.I had to back down So, I was wondering I could get back all the money I spent on the 4runner but i would only be able to get a 95-97 taco. Is this worth it or should I just keep the 4runner? Im not worried about street preformance just offroad, will the lack of power and weight of the 4runner hamper me offroad?
its a 94 22re 4runner by the way.

Money you put in a vehicle rarely comes back out, and AT BEST (ie selling to a private party and/or idiot yields 1/2 of what you put in).... A 4runner and Taco are basically the same thing by the way, it's like a choice between an enclosed cab and seat or bed. I'd rethink your setup if you're really only looking to conquer this one trail.... what do you have for tires/lift etc?

That's odd, mine can climb a wall in 4wl (not really but close). I sold my pickup for the 4runner and I have never looked back. Beter seating capacity, security of gear, and a better ride are the reasons why.

if your worried about power, get a few mods to the engine, mabey some gears?
the tacoma is nice yes, and has lots of power yes, but i still wish i would have gotten the 95 runner i was looking at getting instead of the tacoma, more seating capacity, and more room in the back to throw stuff, right now when i go play paintball i have to have my gear in the back, but if i were to stop somewhere, i have to transfer all of it to the front (lots of gear, not just a couple things) so i can lock it up.
i say keep the runner, you probably wont get what you spent on it back out of it.

Come to think of it I agree with the locker recommendation. I think alot of people here will agree that they're one of the best off-roading mods you can do to your rig.

As a Taco owner, I'd have to say buy the Tacoma!
Actually I agree with the previous posts; figure out why you couldn't get up that trail and see what you can do to fix it. Were the wheels spinning (i.e. lack of traction)? Clutch slipping?
