I had the fortune to sit in on a Jeep marketing focus group just before the Trail Rated thing started. (They even paid me $100 for my oppinion.)
The general oppinion of the group was that no matter what they build, people will modify them to suit their needs, but kudos to Jeep for trying to make capable stockers like the Rubicon Wrangler.
We discussed ad tactics like Border Patrol duty. I said that it'd seem like saying that if the back is comfortable enough for arrested illegal immigrants, it should be comfotrable enough for my kids. Strangly you don't see any Border Patrol ads for Jeeps.
At least Jeep is trying to focus on off road capability to sell their junk. They back it up with what they build. I don't think any new stock Toyota, Ford, GM or Landy could follow a new stock Rubicon on a difficult, icy trail. A computer and fancy brakes will never replace two real locking differentials like the Rubi comes with.
