how much power?

Yeah I plan to go with 4.88 with 31 inch paddles maybe 33's not sure yet. Also how do I make this block vacum? And how simple is it? Does it work with turbo applications? And I did notice that the 5vz makes a lot of torque down low it probally will be a good engine but only time will tell. But once I get everything I'll start the build thread on it.

havnt seen any subi or turbo 4 that hasn't needed race gas or water methanol injection. Most any subi that makes 300hp to the wheels in a rail will need 104+ octane. Stock they need 91 from the factory. Subi would have been sweet but for the price you pay it comes with a ton more maintnance and higher running cost. Just to show you a stock 2.0 subie 4 with turbo cost 5000 turnkey and that's with 220hp at the crank. That's how much my 5vz will cost with the dyno tune and turbo system and probally make better power than the subie.

The vacuum system comes as a kit--you could probably get it from summit or similair.
Basically, you tap into the block--attach hose from tap to vacuum pump--enjoy. The pump is usually belt driven.
I am going to see my motor guy on Friday so i will ask him what he uses and whether your application would warrant it.

Just my .02...
you have gone from the SC to now talking turbo set up. The 3.4 SC is common and there is a pretty good market out there for parts and other accessories. Few have pulled off the turbo successfully. I think i have seen one guy here on the board with a 3.4 turbo. If the turbo route is where you are headed i am afraid you have the wrong engine in mind.

Anyway, that's neither here nor there.
Dude, I've already told you what injectors you need, how much boost you'll be able to push (and how to get it). Even 440cc injectors are WAY too big for a 5vz pushing only 9 psi of boost. The bigger your injectors are, the crappier your idle is and your fuel delivery is limited by the amount of boost you'll be running. There really isn't any reason to run injectors larger than 305-318cc, otherwise you're wasting money and making tuning harder on yourself.

so you guys think i wont get my motor to run right even with the stand alone and tuning? thats a bummer! i ddidnt want to get new injectors cuz those ones are brand new. the thing is i dont want to max the injectors out but if thats waht you guys recomend then ill find some 318 or there abouts. its probally going to end up s/c since it would be a lot more reliable for the desert.
Alright after reading all your remarks and stuff i got to think about the aquamist thing. would it be more beneficial to install this with the 9psi pulley? and i heard you gain power how much would i be able to gain and where can i find a decent reliable kit? thanks

I've seen forums from guys running twice the hp on stock internals all turboed out. Injectors, fuel pump, and a standalone system. The 5vzfe is a bullet proof beast. The weakest link is the heads though. These motors can handle a Heck of a lot of power.
