HG/LR Ping..... but I dont have a Supercharger????
I thought that I noticed a slight hesitation when using my Cruise to accelerate 50 - 60 w/ OD on and going up a moderate grade hill when I was bringing my runner home last weekend. I dismissed as imagination, or possibly bad gas.
But today I rediscovered the problem, and I can easily reproduce it whenever I want to. The symtoms sounded very familiar to me, like I had read them from somewhere..... then it dawned on me, I remembered finding during a S/C fact finding mission.
Lo and behold I found a perfect description @
http://www.gadgetonline.com/pingfix.htm
"This is when you are in 5th gear or overdrive with the converter clutch locked and the engine RPM is around 2000 RPM and you advance the throttle into boost and you get the engine knocking and pinging. I call this the High Gear/Low RPM Ping or HG/LR Ping for short." - Hope he doesn't mind the quote.
I don't have an S/C but I hope to by end of summer, so I probably want this resolved first, as to not compound the problem. I'm goint to do the regular tune up route plugs, wires, etc. But is there anything else to look for?

Throw in some BG 44K. There's been some good reviews in this thread. I'm running it through my truck right now because of some pining. From what everyone says, it seems to be well worth it. I've still got 1/2 a tank until my final verdict.
Don't forget the fuel filter if you have a lot of miles.
Thats all I can think of.
