Installed these guys on my Taco yesterday, fairly easy install, good beam and good quality parts. They have them for around $80 + S&H on the net, I got em off EBAY for $35 + S&H. Only gripe is you cannot wire them up to turn on with the park lamps, has to be low or high beams(if you use the switch like I did).

You could have had them spliced in with the parking lamps so that once you turn on the parking lamps you could turn on your FF50s as well. That's what I did to my wife's Honda Pilot.

I did at first, the relay would not turn on with the parking lamps, they used a relay that had to be hooked to headlamps i guess since thats the legal way. I could figure out any other reason. But I love em none the less, good lamps.

i guess you can stay legal with your setup. I do believe tinted headlight covers are also illegal though......... lol juss giving you crap, no offense

or you could just make them their own circuit and be able to turn them on whenever you want.

You missed my point, they relay won't turn on with the park's, thats hella, my only choice was to use that method or hook them up all the time. Since my wife drives the truck around when I'm outta town, the first thing I can see happening is she doesn't turn the lights off and then has a dead battery, so that wasn't an option for me! I need to update the pics because I took those damn things off and now have the good lookin billet grill on their.

best thing for you to do is splice them into ignition so they only turn on with ignition is on. kinda like a DRL in a way, ofcourse you'd still have a switch on turn them off.

The FF50/FF75 are my favorite lights for driving and fog lights...I love 'em! They were awesome for my ARB...bolted right up to the built-in mounts and were easy to wire up. I'll probably be getting some of the FF75's for the valence on my 3rd gen.

are you sure you were using the pos (+) wire for the parking lights and not the ground (-) by accident to trigger the relay?

current is current. headlights or parking lights. once the relay sees current at 12V, it will work. they should work on the parking lights if hooked up correctly.

I wired my Hella 500 fog lights using the supplied relay and parts. I spliced mine into the parking light circuit instead of the headlights. They work fine that way. I normally only use them w/ low beams for fog, but every once in a while, I'll use them with the high beams for out in the backcountry. The fogs fill in the area in front of the truck that the high beams leave somewhat dark. Handy on those twisty and dark dirt roads.
