Getting a clunk on pass side under breaking.
Just a slight clunk...if you have the tunes up at all you can't hear it. At first I thought ball joint, but after looking I noticed the sway bar bushing is coming appart. The one on the right side where it mounts to the frame.

Any ideas?

I've got this problem on my '99 but I can't really tell which side the clunk happens on...it will only happen after driving around without hitting the brakes for about 20-30 feet.
Weird...

Hey guys- Is the "clunk" when you first push the brake pedal or when you release it? My 99 sometimes clunks when I let off the pedal, but I have not had time to look into it yet.

The latest culprit on my truck causing front end clunks when letting off the brake was that I had dropped a nut off of an A-arm bolt and the bolt had worked itself out of the rear bushing. oops.

I have what sounds like the same thing you are describing but only happens once in warm Temps. and sometimes twice when its cold. Only happens in the Morning when the Truck is completely cold. It sits out all day at work and I have never noticed the same sound...Only in the morning. It happens when the brake is being applied and never when I let off.
I should add that my 02 has just turned 35K miles. I can't believe Toyota would let a bushing or ball joint get by that would only last 35K...It doesn't seem to bother anything and the Truck drives straight and stops straight...It's done it since I got it 11 months ago and had 28K on it then.
Just thought you guys would like to know that an 02 has had what sounds like the same sound.
