Thanks for all of the good advice over the past two days or so. Looks like the Hella 500's may be the way to go, just keeping it simple by doing the bumper mount. Are the Hella DE's a good replacement for the stock fogs that came on my 1999 4Runner LTD? Any recommendations on replacement bulbs for my stock headlights while we are at it? Thanks again!

I thought they were the same, I bought them and they are pretty much the same with the same amount of output.

xcmountain80,
I see tons of those up here! A lot of blue ones for the snow. Funny thing is, everyone has them, but I've never seen anyone with them on (besides the semi trucks). Too many people up here have their trucks just for show.... It's a shame.... There's one blue Ford Stepside with 4 mounted on top and 2 on his bumper. If he ever turned them all on, I'm sure Marvin the Martian could see him with no problem!

What I did was order a heavy duty harness which was pretty cheap and was a simple plug and play for the headlights. Then I ordered a higher wattage bulb from OSRAM i believe it was 80/85 W and they work amazing over stock. Anyway, this is a great website for automotive lighting.

Personally, I think the Hella DE's are way better than the stock fog lights on my '00 Limited. I don't have them yet but I will because a buddy of mine swapped his out and they giver way better output.

Here is the harness:

Here is the place that I got my bulbs from:

Yeah had they been on you may have seen sun spots for some time. They are stupid bright at only 100w. They use a xenospot bulb from osram. I use them in the early am morning drive from home to work, you can't use them with other traffic because they are so bright. On the up side I have yet to be able to outrun my lights as is common with stock lighting ie. running at speeds where you lights don't reach far enough for good reaction time.

X2... These lights are great. I am very pleased with the output and I am running 100 watt bulbs.

Finally, someone chimes in..its about time.

Flyfishexpert,

I am interested in how you wired them up and did you use the mouse style switch supplied or did you go with OEM Toyota switch. Pics would be great...thanks a bunch.
