Driver Door Power Lock Problem

Hey, glad to find this board. I am the very happy new owner of a 99 SR5 4Runner after my Jeep Cherokee was totalled. This is so much more truck it's unbelievable. When I drove it off the lot after hours of haggling, I noticed that the driver door power lock doesn't work -- remotely or from the switch on the door. I also noticed an aftermarket switch on the dash which is a remote starter. When I listen to the door, it sounds like something is happening when I hit the button, but the door doesn't unlock. I am wondering if this has anything to do with the remote starter or not and how easy or difficult it would be to figure it out. Since the 4Runner cost me $6,000 more than I am being reimbursed, money is a little tight. Thanks for any help. No problem converting from Jeep here.

Driver Door Lock

So I pulled the door panel and it looks like the actuator is not working. I found a replacement on the net for $130. Anybody got a better idea?

Ben:

The actuators are door specific. Here are the part numbers:

FRONT:
L (drivers):#6912035050 fits:96-02
R (pass):#6911035050 fits:96-02

REAR:
L:#6914035030 fits:96-98
R:#6913035030 fits:96-98

L:#6914035060 fits:99-02
R:#6913035060 fits:99-02

All are $97.29 @ the dealer.

try several dealerships with the part number needed to narrow down the best price. I've used Toyota Parts Zone before with good results. Try also TRDPARTS4U.COM

way to run down the issue. Jokingly-glad to hear the Cherokee was totaled out and will not be passed on to someone else to ruin their motoring life.

seriously glad you were not harmed and are enjoying a better quality of ride

I have used Toyota Parts Barn: https://www.toyotapartsbarn.com/ prices are reasonable and people are friendly when you call and will look up those hard to find part numbers for you.
