CEL after Deckplate.
I got the CEL after the deckplate mod and have reset the fuse, and disconnected the battery, and it still comes on. Where do I go to get my own code reader, or to get it read for me?

Auto Zone or Advance will read the codes for you for free. There are many places online to get code readers. IIRC there was a thread recently about a good place to get a code reader online.

dont waste your time buying a code reader. if you just did the deckplate and your mil is coming on then check your intake for a loose hose. we all like to assume we tighen every clamp back up but sometimes we forget. its either that or something totally unrelated that just happened to come on when u did the deckplate.

Get the code read at an Autozone free, buy a cheap reader (available almost everywhere for under $99) or get one online for cheaper. If you have already reset the codes (via pilling neg batt terminal) once and everything was reinstalled properly, then the code may actually be unrelated. Without knowing what the code is, it's very bad advice to just ignore it. Get the code read somehow and post back so we can help you out.

Its a P0773 code.
shift solenoid E
circuit electrical
He told me to find the "Speed sensor" and check the connections, on my way to do that now.
EDIT: I looked all over the tranny for something that looked like the speed sensor he showed me. I did not see anything. I searched for the code here and none of the threads came to a good conclusion. I guess its time to drop that pan? I LOVE working on my truck and learning stuff, but I know ZERO about anything electronic. How do I go about checking the solenoids myself?
