Can't pick the right shocks...
First post here, probably in the wrong place, sorry. I'm working in Japan and have a 1997 surf/4ruuner with the 3.0 KZ-TE turbo diesel. I am looking to go up two inches, and I've already bought springs. I have a feeling that they are pretty stiff, and I don't really want loose the cushy 'family ride' too much, so I thought that rancho 9000's would be nice since I could adjust them. I called rancho this morning and was told they don't make a strut for a 2inch lift on my rig, so screw rancho.
I'm wondering if any of you folks have a suggestion for a smooth riding shock combo that will work with a 2 inch bigger spring? I do a fair amount of wheeling as I hunt deer for about 5 months of the year here. I also have the e-locker. And T-max 8500 winch on the front with a fairly light bumper setup, somewhere around 200 pounds including the winch. Your advice would surely be appreciated!

if i am correct, in the front you will not want to go much longer without a limiting strap, as you may allow the CV's to extend into death range...
then again, I am still running stock front/rear shocks with 3" lift and they are shot (garbage)

you could get the rancho and then just get some blocks to give you that extra hight. This is the way that i am thinking of going although anywhere 1 - 2 inches would be fine for me.

I'm pretty well lost on what to do. Do I need spacers on top of the strut inside the coil? Or should I go with some trekmasters, or , maybe EMU? Or would some soft monroes work well with these stiff springs? Or should I put the springs on with the stock shocks and see what breaks and go from there?
I wish I hadn't bought them springs, then I could go with a EMU system...

Olharleyman speaks truth, lol. Pro Comp makes exellent shocks for lifted vehicles and so does Old Man Emu by ARB. Rancho does make shocks for lifted vehicles, but they dont like to deal with Toyotas for some odd reason (american motors supporter).
