Break Light Problem

left work to go home last night an my buddy called me an said my right side tail/break light was not working so i took apart an replaced bulb on right side it came on an worked fine. Then coming home from dinner last night my friend texted me an said my break light on the left side was out Really?? WTH so I stopped at the gas station an replaced the other blub on the left side an it is working fine.

My question is was this due to old blubs that needed to be replace or could i have another issue?

an are the fog lights tied into any of the other lights?

Thanks

If you replaced the bulbs and they worked then that was your problem. If you had replaced the bulbs and they didnt work it would possibly be a short in the wiring. but there doesnt seem to be a problem now?
