Anyone still use Tundra Coil/OME 890 Setup?

The front Tundra coils with the rear Old Man Emu 890s used to be a very popular lift on here. I'm curious if anyone still uses this setup? If not, what are the advantages to using Icons, SAWs, etc. over the Tundra/OME. I'm just trying to decide if it's worth the extra money for a DD and occasional moderate off-roading???

What I've read is that the Icons/Hoes, SAW's, Kings, etc. are nicely built products however the advantages in performance gains are negligible from a progressive rate coil like the Tundra coils and a OME shock.

I am using Tundra coils and Tokico shocks. They ride great on road and off. But they don't have the bling factor or the advantage of adjusting ride height.

I've never had the money or desire to buy the expensive coilovers so I can't talk from experience, just regurgitated information I've read here nad TTORA.

I current have a 3'' lift kit from toytec with a heavy duty front coil. The front springs are mounted on adjustable height bilstien shocks and rear coils are 891 OME. This kit is my first on this model of 4runner, but have been very pleased with the results. This vehicle is my wifes daily driver but I have been very impressed with its performance off road.

I'm actually pretty happy with the Tundra/OME setup, just curious if I'm missing out on something.

I'm still running the tundra/OME lift. I've had it for about 3 years now. it still rides great and I'm in no hurry to change anything.

kind of what I am hoping to upgrade to. I need just another inch or two up front to be just perfect...

I think the front setup as team g force described with the variable height Bilsteins are a pretty popular setup with just enough tweak -ability to suit many of us.

The 890s seem to be a pretty versatile rear spring. I found the 891s a bit too stiff for my daily driving tastes but the lift they gave was substantial. I am glad to have the 890s now and rarely seem to drive it fully loaded up in the back end.

Hey I am thinking of upgrading to Tundra coils, currently running 881's in front. When I put my ARB on the front dropped about and inch, which isn't so bad but the front end feels really squishy now, I miss the tighter handling before the ARB. Do the Tundras give a little stiffer ride?

sorry, still searching and learning kind of an IFS noob here... ask me something about a Land Cruiser. here's a pic, though not a good one to see the rake

love that double cab nakman with the new ARB

Not sure of the fitments to a 'Coma but I think Scott-JadeRunner is running Tundra coils.

Not positive but I think the TRD Tundra coils are particularly coveted,

I'm a recent convert to the TRD/OME lift and love it! However, I need to try everything on the market so I will be swapping out the 890s for the LCs very soon.

I just scored a set of the trd Tundra coils and want to run tokicos as well! Which ones are you using?

Coilovers - adjustability, extended lengths available (pair well with UCAs for smoother travel over a greater length), 2 to 2.5" shock diameter for less overheating/fade.

I think it depends what you are doing and where you are. Looks like most of the people replying to this thread are from the midwest (generally speaking) so that would be more trail riding, correct me if I'm wrong. In California there are a lot of desert backcountry opportunities which lend themselves to long rough dirt roads in which case the larger shock diameter of a coilover really shines.
