Hey have any of you 3rd gen owners developed any squeals from your interior air blower motor?
The motor behind the glove compartment has developed an annoying intermittent squeak. It either needs to be silicon-sprayed or replaced.
Has anyone here ever had this problem? Have you tried lubing/cleaning it, or have you simply replaced it?

I find that if I shut the fan off and then turn it back on, it goes away for a bit. Or if I hit it w/my maglite it goes away.
I saw 2 screws at the bottom of it & I have to do some work on the Runner tonight, so I'll see if I can get a closer look at it then.

i took my blower motor apart this weekend because i was having the same problem...squeaking randomly, i could't believe what i found! the whole fan was clogged with leaves and cigarette butts. when i say clogged, i mean clogged. i couldn't even believe the fan would even turn. so i cleaned it out and no more squeaking. how does trash like that end up in the blower fan assembly? is there not some kind of protection from debris entering the fan? all in all not too hard to do...took about an hour if anyone wants a writeup i will be happy to provide one.

Someone was using your rig as an ashtray. That's crazy!

Here is a writeup I did on overhauling the blower motor in my '85:

Lube the bushings, clean the fan and in my case replace the carbon brushes in the motor.

Yeah I had the squeek too and fixed mine (has not come back since).
Here is the thread where Bob's writeup came from and how I fixed the squeek:
