sounds like a PITA with the work versus result
either save up and do it right, straight pipe, or get a crappy muffler from wal-mart

a cheap muffler will still sound kinda garbagy... if you want a flowmaster (my recommendation only) check prices at summit.com or autoanything.com

My advice is to be patient and do it right the first time with a quality muffler. If you cherish your 4Runner, why would you want to add something cheap and inferior to it? Out of all the aftermarket mufflers out there, I would recommend Magnaflow for their straight through design, stainless steel construction (if you opt for it), and fully welded seams. Borla should be similar, but more expensive. Flowmaster uses baffles and chambers inside to keep a certain exhaust tone, but because of this, the performance isn't there.

take it to a muffler shop, my whole flowmaster exhaust set-up was little over 200.
