Exclamation 99 4Runner Intake Silencer Mod GONE WRONG

So today I decided to do the intake silencer mod on my 99 4Runner limited. So I decided to get on the site to see what are the real benefits of having done this mod. After I was done reading about the mod, I realized that. I did the damn intake silencer mod wrong. Instead of redirecting the hose that went into the intake silencer. I put the hose into PCV pipe that replaced it.

I'm rather upset that I didn't purchase a ¼” Plastic Tee to redirect the hose. Does anyone know for sure if by doing the mod wrong. Does it make any difference? I'm willing to do it again. Please and thank you.

I stuffed a golf tee in the end of it and zip tied it out of the way. I don't think you can get much more "wrong" than that, and it's been fine.

As long as those lines are sealed and able to hold a stable pressure, you should be fine.

Are you talking about the fuel pressure regulator line!! That needs to read ambient pressure for change in altitude.

Lars has a point. If you are talking about the line that ran to the FPR, I recommend you mimic my setup (as I did of those who had gone before me)

Here's the link and there is a good close-up of how I re-routed the lines using the 1/4" tee.

I purchased a 1/4" tee and a foot of 7/32" vacuum line from O'Reilly's for under $3. Don't go cheap when it comes to vacuum pressure, it's most important in keeping your engine running properly, especially when dealing with fuel system.

Same here..

And forgot to cap off-reroute the FPR hose. Did it last night but have a question. Is resetting the EFi fuse the last step once youve completed the ISR mod?

I ask b/c i combined the ISR & Elbow mods and installed a dynomax muffler but havent reset the EFI fuse. Thanks.
