4Runner T-Case Breather Extension
Has anyone extended their T-case breather on a 3rd gen 4Runner? I know the T-case is already pretty high up, but I'd like to do it just incase. Can I use the same union fitting on the t-case as the rear diff breather? I did some searching, but couldn't find a good write up or anything very concise

If it is a threaded breather, then unscrew it and see if it is a 10mm thread, if so the diff breather mods would work. Otherwise, see if the cap pulls off and try fitting a hose over it. If the above are no good, try this:
Since my '85 tranny and t-case(s) have no breathers, I drilled/tapped holes for pipe thread fittings:

My reason for doing this is not so much keeping water out, rather in keeping gear oil fumes out of the cab, since the early boxes are vented through the shifters, the hot oil fumes can get up into the cab.
