Rear wheel locks when 4wd is engaded on '94 4runner
Hi Guys,
Love the posts, this forum is really informative. I'm from Trinidad and Tobago here in the Caribbean and recently attempted my first car project. I recently acquired a '94 4runner that had a 2L Turbo-diesel engine in it. I opted to swap it out for a 1KZ-TE engine and automatic transmission that i acquired from a front cut of another 4runner that was brought in from Japan. The swap was successful, the engine runs great, and the vehicle drives well. However, i have one problem, every time i engage the 4wd the rear wheels lock up, as in they don't move at all........the front wheels move just fine. We double checked the vacuum line settings that run from the unit under the hood to the transmission, and everything seems to be in order, however, we have no clue as to why this would be happening.
Do you guys have any suggestions as to what the problem could be? I've searched the forums for posts on similar problems but haven't really been able to find anything that could help me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Much
Kevin
