Got my main shifter mounted and linkage all setup. Made a plate on bottom and mounted it all to that.

also what do you guys think about the amount of slip in my rear shaft? I dont remember how it was before it seems like i don't have enough might need to shorten it?

Rear shaft is definitely shorter for an auto.

Here they are side-by-side. As you can see, it's not much of a difference, but it's definitely there.

Again, this is from an '86 4Runner SR5 w/ W56 and an '87 4Runner SR5 Turbo w/ A340H

That said, I don't know if you'd NEED to have the shorter shaft (or have yours lengthened). That looks to me like it might be enough slip, but I'm really not sure.

To make a long story short i got it in and there was not fluid being pumped. Figured out my TC was not in far enough to engage the pump, but it was when installed. I belive when bolting in the TC to the flexplate i pulled it out. So my question is. There is 2 spacers on each side of the flexplate. One thick and one thin. I put the thin one on the front side against the crank and put the thick one on back against the flexplate. Now if this is wrong then that's my problem.

Edit:I have them on backwards

k really need some help guys. I'm still having issues at start up and when turning the engine off. Already dropped the pan rod bearings are good. But it does sound like when you are about to stall a 5speed and it kinda knocks. Seems like something is putting to much load on the engine or maybe something with the Torque converter. Any test you guys have so i can eliminate things and figure out what the hell is going on will help alot. All out of ideas. here is a short vid. You can hear the knock at first start kinda have to give it gas for the knock to stop. then when it turns off sounds the same. Runs fine down the road never makes that sound only at start up and when turned off.
