strangest swap never done: 21R?
ok, a friend and myself are tearing down an 84 extra cab and completely rebuilding it. I spent an evening pulling the engine out and getting it on the stand so we can strip for the machine shop. a few weeks go by without us working on it, and finally i start tearing down the motor, but i noticed it was really heavy on the emission controls. so once i got it to a bare block, we sent it to the machine shop to get dipped and surfaced. the next day i get a call from my machinist saying that it will cost over 3000$ to build back to stock. i couldn't believe this, not for a 22r, no way. it wasn't a 22r, it was a 21r, from an australian forklift. amazingly they were used in really bad corollas in japan from 78' to 83' also. anyone want it? for a forklift? or a table? something to shoot at?

i know that they aren't that uncommon, but this one actually came out of australia, and isreally heavy on the emission controls, like the 21r-c. it's retarded how useless it is to us. the whole setback makes me want to kick puppies.
