Dieseldreamer '85 ex cab 22re Build-up thread
Here's my new rig. The buildup will take place over the next 3 months.
It's going to include a new suspension, hi-steer, adding sliders, new paint.
For next year I'd like to send it out to diesel toys for a hilux diesel swap.
First post, I look forward to joining the community.
MORE info
NEW 22re Longblock with 3k miles, trailgear stinger and rear bumper. Currently has a 4"? pro comp lift, the shocks are blown out. Steering is tight after the box. NEW 18 rims and tires.

Good looking truck! What kind of lift are you wanting to go with? 4" is perfect to me unless you are wanting to do some serious off roading! Are you staying with red paint or going a different direction? Welcome to Yota Tech and our little slice of Heaven on here!

4"
Man I was all set to pull the trigger on an allpro but after calling, talking to the rep, finding out prices listed on the web were incorrect or out of date and the like my original $1500 lift estimate shot up over $2700. Now I am looking for the right/best for the money. As for paint I'm going blue. Wanting to make it nice and pretty, bilstein 1550. I'll keep updating here, but am not as good, and don't have enough time, to make this buildup as pretty and easy to follow as some others.

That truck looks nice as it is, but your build plan sounds great. It will be nice to see it come along. I'm just starting my own build up. Keep us updated. What size tires do you have for those wheels?

Tire size
They are 33's I am now looking at trailgear. I would love to run a 3" instead of 4" if i can keep my tires from rubbing. Looks like some fender trimming is in the future.

33's look good on your Yota. I have a set of 31's that I am going to put on. I'm in the process of switching out my diff gears as they are for slower trail riding. I have been looking into 4.10's, but some people say that 4.56 is better for 31's. What gears do you have, and how do they run?
