You calling me old? :-). Yeah I'm getting up there at 68 , but still can wrench and teach my grand sons how it is done. She is solid ole truck for sure.
I've been playing bass for 15 years. Haven't built one yet.
Here is a pic of my current collection. The ones in the front row are ones that I built. I've done others, currently working on a P bass bodied, jazz pups, with quilted maple top/alder back. Just as much fun as wrenching on these Toys.....
nice set of bass's My dad has like 2 or three stand ups a cello, and a couple electric Kay bass's and a acoustic bass, very cool my parents have a variety band they play music all over the place nursing homes weddings retirement partys etc....
That flame top one with the tele looking headstock is sweet. I usually feel like fender style neck is too thick for my taste, but those are all look really nice. The guy on the back left looks like something I'd be into playing. Maybe I do need to build one...
We got some time this last weekend to get the frame worked on. Welded the shock tower back on, rust proofed and painted satin black. I wish I had a bigger nozzle for my paint gun, as the Rust Bullet paint was drying to fast for us to brush nice and smooth. Oh well, its painted black. Next is to get the front axle cleaned and painted. My new bushings and greaseable hinge pins will be here tomorrow. Want to get it into a roller ASAP
Ahh, such a clean frame! I love to see body-off restorations/builds of these trucks... It makes sure they're around a lot longer then if they were just left alone!
Well it has been a while posting, so here goes some progress pics.
Got the front axle put back under the frame, after installing OME greasable shackles and pins.
Been cleaning parts and painting the engine, installing accessories as they get ready. Want to move the alternator to the right side to take some of the clutter out of the left engine bay. Got to get the p/s pump reinstalled to figure out which pulley to use for the alternator and build the mounting bracket. As it sits right now.
While paint dries here and there, working on cleaning the bottom of the cab. Don't know which would be best, using a bed liner paint or undercoating to finish it off. Gimme some suggestions.
All of the above sure is getting in the way of my bass guitar building time. LOL
I have been considering using bed liner on the bottom of a truckbed I have yet to put on. Been considering the rustoleum in a can spray liner. I'm also moving my alternator (well putting a cs-144 alt on) to the right side of the engine. I'm about to pull my truck in the garage and pull the grill, radiator, fan out so I can get in their real good to measure up for a bracket. Hopefully I will have a bracket design by sunset I can show you and see what you think.
I see you have everything cleaned up real nice around the power steering system, did you need to put new seals in? I found one, finally, but the whole thing is really oily and I was wandering if I needed new seals and how big a job it is.

Mine was pretty dirty before I removed it, found that both the pressure and cooler lines were slashed at one point and seeping oil onto the steering box. I would think that seal replacement would be fairly ease with the right tools. Maybe it could be pressure checked before installing
