Good 3.0 auto transmission with t-case (A340H) in Oklahoma

SOLD

SOLD

This is a good, one owner, A340H auto tranny/transfer case combo from my 93 ext cab 4x4. The torque converter is included too. It had 115,812 miles when I removed it to do a 3.4 swap. Price reduced to $899, in the Oklahoma City area.

It's complete except I took the speed sensor out of it.

The over-heat light has never come on with it and the ATF was flushed at fairly regular intervals. The only towing done with it was a few trips to the tool rental place near my house (very short trips at slow speeds).

History:
6/12/93 I bought the truck new (50 miles on odometer)

2/3/95 Complete flush was done @ 15,018 miles by the dealer (Toyota ATF).

1/22/97 Complete flush done @ 41,908 miles by the dealer (Toyota ATF).

8/1/02 A drain and refill was done @ 92,880 miles (Toyota ATF).

9/5/03 The pan was dropped, filter changed, and magnets cleaned @ 100,327 miles with a refill (Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF). The filter was hardly dirty at all but I had already bought a new one before I dropped the pan so I replaced it anyway. The magnets just had the normal amount accumulation on them.

9/10/03 that was followed by a complete flush (Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF) @ 100,440 miles.

8/5/04 This Hayden transmission cooler was added at 105,000 miles, just as a precaution, there was never any indication of overheating problems (as I said, the over-temp light has never come on):

In march 2006 I started my 3.4 swap and the tranny was removed at 115,812 miles and was working great when removed.

Here's some pics of it coming out:

I did make one mistake while removing the tranny (the first one I ever removed) I didn't unbolt the torque converter (TC) from the drive plate so when I slid the tranny back from the engine the TC seperated from the tranny and stayed with the engine. Because of this there is a slight possibility the TC seal could have been damaged but it looked ok to me. The fact that I used a tranny jack and removed it very carefully probably helped, but you may want to check that seal yourself or just replace it as a precaution.

All the openings, like where the ATF cooling lines connect, were wrapped and sealed when disconnected to keep any dust or dirt out. The pan was not removed and the kick down cable is still connected. It's been stored wrapped in plastic in a storage room since being removed from the truck.

Here's my feedback thread:

That is a pretty good deal Dale. Around here a good used A340H can go up to over $1200.

I just bought a whole truck so I would have an extra transmission. For what a front seal cost, I would NEVER install a transmission without popping one in. That is a lot of work to pull this unit.

Hey, I was wondering if you still had the engine wire harness for the 3.0 auto.
And if so how much you want for it.
Thanks

Bump to top, I still have this tranny. Why do I feel like a vulture sitting on a fence waiting for someones A340H to go belly up?

My trans is starting to act up. I just wanted to subscribe to this until it's dead. Hopefully you'll still have yours when it dies.

My tranny is getting ready to kick the bucket probably in the next 20k miles...the fluid has been changed twice in the last 4500 miles and the filter changed once and cleaned the magnets...and the fluid is still really dirty. But, it shifts just fine still.
It would be cool to have an extra tranny around when it finally does bite the dust, but unfortunately I don't have the money to buy it right now. Put it on Ebay...somebody will probably buy it there.

I will consider delivering this a reasonable distance (<800 miles), if you help with gas $$$. That would get it to Denver, Albuqurque, Little Rock, Houston, St. Louis, etc... Must pay at least half before I load it up though.
