all depends on what you're wheeling in...but just do a little searching...someone was even in the process of putting together a thread that everyone could post answers to this question on...but if it were me, i'd go with a good-wearing M/T-tire, as i've always like the look, sounds, and performance of them...but it's really all on what kind of driving you'll be doing...

got 50,000 miles out of my last set of goodyear wrangler mtr.. also loved my cooper stt.......... get one of those you will be very very happy.

MTR's do look more aggressive, but A/T's in 32 or 33's will do you just fine, unless you're constantly going to be in mud.

Id just stay away from the BFG MTs. I had those and they were really noisy, and bumpy. My MT/Rs are nice, but, I think I may go to Nitto or back to BFG KO's again.

First off, it really does depend on what you will be doing with your truck. If you play in mud, a mud tire would help. If most of the time you will be on the road, an A/T would be best for wear and ride. The BFG A/T is a good tire with great wear, ride characteristics. As far as what size, I would go for the largest you can fit without rubbing. You would regret it if you went with something smaller, knowing that you could've fitted the next size or two up. Also, with any lift, you want that extra ground clearance from the tire diameter, which IS why you would install a lift to begin with. I have wheeled BFG A/T's in mud, snow, rocks, and had very good results. The tri-gard sidewall is a great benefit also where alot of other tires would split a sidewall. I ran my Toyota into a straight 6" curb at 45mph (by accident of course) and it did not even leave a mark. Those were only 31's! Any other tire probably would have split wide open. I had over 55k miles on them when I sold the truck and they were still in very good shape.

I agree, 285/75's sounds like a good size for that setup. I used to run BFG KO muds and I thought the wear rate was pretty good. Noise on the BFG's is not too bad (hey, it's a mud tire), but like all muds they started to howl like crazy after they wear to below 1/3 tread or so.

255/85/16 would also be a good size. Limited options as far as brand goes, but...I love mine.

I'd go with a 315/75/R16 BFG KM2: but that's just me and I'm regearing.

I'd run a 285/75/R16 Cooper Discoverer STT. I've liked these since they came out.



2nd choice would be the km2s just to try out the new hotness.
