'Eagle' 15x8 rims and Firestone Destination M/T 33s installed
Hi all;
Just wanted to share my newest purchase. Just got these on today, new 'Eagle' 15x8 rims and Firestone Destination M/T 33s, 12.50 R15LTs. Got the rims on sale for $135.00/per and the tires were $233.00/per installed. They replaced my old 33s Kumho Ventura M/Ts. I think they look great. What do you think?

Yeah I think they are pretty kool. It really changes the look, for the better. Now all I need is my 3"suspension lift and I'm golden.

Well the problem with the rim is that it sits flush with the tire. The piece of kit they use to do the alignment couldn't attach itself to anything and hold. The manager didn't want to chance scratching the inside of the rim with the 4 metal pins that sit on the rim....so tomorrow we go to plan B. You know how other rims have this little 'lip' going around the outer edge of the rim right next to the tire? Well these rims don't have that, it's perfectly smooth all the way around. Not being a 'tire expert', I didn't argue the point. It will get done though!

Well his plan B was to tape the tips of the metal pins then he decided against that after one of the tire-techs told him that it wouldn't work. Plan B (I guess it's actually plan C now...) now is to go back tomorrow, put the old rims and tires back on (they are still together at the garage) and do the alignment using them. My question is, will that work when we put the new tires back on?

Truck looks great. I have Destination MT's and Eagle wheels too. Copycat! I had the same problem about the alignment with my setup. I first went to the Toyota dealership, and they said the wheels didn't have anything to grip on. They were nice enough about it and suggested a different small local shop in town. I went there and their alignment machine had thinner "fingers" and was able to grip my wheels. They did the alignment, no problem. So, maybe try some other shops. My plan "B" was to swap wheels/tires with my wife's FJCruiser for a day. Good luck.

Well I went back today and they did exactly what your shop did, they used thinner fingers and it was no problem. Now I'm good to go. They are a very smooth riding tire eh? Not as loud as I thought they would be but, I've already had a few people stop me in parking lots wanting to know where I got them. One guy even wanted to buy my truck!
