I've never worked with the 4X4 tranny so I might b talkin out my azz here but the 5.0 motor puts out 300lb tq, that's the only reason I'd b concerned. You would b able to retrofit the 5.0 pedal assembly pretty easily then run a 5.0 clutch cable retrofit to make it manually adjustable. The stock cable/pedal adjuster is junk.

I would think a used/rebuilt T5 is cheaper than a conversion adaptor?

What is giving you a hard time? You have to treat the truck and motor as two seperate systems. The vehicle harness will run all the essentials for the vehicle ie lights and such. The engine harness is seperate all you have to do is wire up a few wires to power the engine computer and your fuel pump. You will need the entire engine harness along with the power distribution box for the motor. Or at least thats how I did it. You need to have a complete wiring schematic for your motor. As for clutch options you have to use a pressure plate for the motor you are using. The clutch disk is a different story. I did find out that a disk from a 2005 Tacoma with a V6 is the right spline count and is 10 7/8 in diameter. Havent been able to find out if you can buy one seperate though. Otherwise you have to use the NWOR disk or the one from AA.

If I remeber correctly you will find some of your guage wires in thoes connectors, I was able to install a 4 runner guage cluster in my 89 pickup and a 91 5.0HO with the bellhousing just as you are and I believe your 4x light, your reverse lights, battery light, and other idiot lights are there...
