22re into '54 Willys wagon
Howdy Gang,
Grandson and I are building a 1954 Willys wagon and want to swap in a 1987 22re engine from a 1 ton 2wd pick up. We want to use a 84 diesel 4x4 running gear.
Will the mounting bolts holes be the same on a gas engine into a diesel bellhousing?
I understand that the oil pan might be different from 2wd to 4wd. How can we tell which pan to get?
Is there an aftermarket wiring harness to make the job any easier or would lt be easy to salvage the 1 ton wiring and computer to make it work ?
The diesel engine we have is missing the oil pan and oil pick up and have no idea if the diesel is good or not.
We bought a few trucks(real cheap) from a local yard that went out of business and got a mess of parts.
Any good links to read would be appriciated-- I searched and read a lot but didn't get all our questions answered.
thanks
Hank and Dominic
