QuickSilver's 3.4 swap 99 runner into 90 runner
#22
no smog for me i'm not even running the evap system at all. makes my life a little easier. i actually wasnt thinking i would get it started today. i was doing some small things to it and realized if i made a couple of quick connections i could test start it. hopefully the i can figure out the rough idle issue and get this thing going!

got a few more little things done today. i swapped my MAF with the one from my brothers 98 4runner and nothing changed. i decided to just focus on finishing the swap.
-got the wire run from the battery to fuse box
-power steering lines hooked up
-alternator on and swapped the rear part from the 90 to 98 so i can reuse the factory plug
-radiator installed
-heater hoses fabbed up
-overflow bottle modded and remounted
still need to get the throttle cable figured out. the stock cable is VERY long and i cant seem to get it to work with the 3.4 bracket even bending it

IT WENT DOWN THE ROAD FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY!
thanks for the tip, cut it down the middle and i bent it to the perfect angle. no more 3000 rpm idle.
i also found out my issue with it only running a few seconds. i had somehow missed wiring the FC wire from the new body harness to the old side of the body harness. it was only getting fuel during the crank position. i connected that wire and all is good now.
also found out i had not connected my fuel pressure regulator to a vacuum source. i cant find pics of where it hooks in so i have it connected to the port on the front side of the intake manifold. not sure if that is right but it runs decently.
everything else seems to be good. i need to clean up some wiring in the engine compartment tomorrow and then solder all the connections i made. then just have to install a new electric fan and re-weld the shifter extensions on my trans and t case. i broke the t case shifter off at the weld earlier testing it out. (better now than down the road somewhere) got a new CD player to put in her and then just get it cleaned up and ready for tags and insurance!!!
