Fuel pressures
just curious about the differences in the 3.0l fuel pump and the 3.4l pump.
I know my 3.0l pump is keeping up at idle. 40psi and jumps to 45psi with the vacuum unhooked to the regulator. But, I clamped off the fuel return line to check my dead head pressure and all I get is 55psi. That seems low. I primarily work on volvo's as full time job. and when you check the dead head on one of those little pumps , It'll peg the needle on my gauge.
Anybody know what the Dead head pressure should be on the 3.0l and 3.4l pumps.
I just don't want to starve my engine especially with the supercharger I'm running.

Don't know the stock pressures but why would you even mess with the stock fuel pump on a supercharged engine? URD seams like they make some pretty good stuff. http://www.urdusa.com/product_info.p...s_id=130000003

Not exactly the best advice there. It might be better to say buy one made for your engine. But still the engine isn't stock even though its a TRD supercharger. And if you read the link I posted up you know that the stock fuel pump (for the 3.4 not for the truck that its in) can keep up with the stock injectors. The problem is that the stock injectors don't deliver enough fuel for the supercharger and it makes you run lean. Now running lean as I'm sure everybody knows is horrible for an engine, especially with a forced induction engine. Luckily it must not be horribly lean cause a lot of people I'm sure just throw on a supercharger and call it good with that. I would rather have an engine that is running right without leaning out and in return not only will you get more power but also better reliability.
Now in conclusion sorry I know I didn't answer any of the OP's questions but as it says on URD, and here's a list.

- The stock injectors will run lean with the supercharger
- The stock 3.4 pump will keep up with the stock injectors if you don't choose to upgrade
- More fuel to your engine will make it run better, be more reliable, and have more power

thanks
Thanks for the advice, URD has a great fuel pump upgrade for $99 bucks
but I still would like to know what my dead head pressure should be. You cant find that in any specs.
My engine is cutting out at high RPM's .it gets up to higher RPM's but if you try to hold it there it eventually starts cutting out. Like my fuel volume isn't there.
Anybody out there check dead head pressures know what it should be at.
