3.4 into 2nd gen 4 runner Have a donor.
My vehicle: 94 3.0l automatic 4runner
Donor: 98 3.4l auto 4runner (wrecked, cosmetic damage, all other components are functioning)
So I'm not here to ask a million questions about the swap, I understand there are tons of articles and build threads for that. What I can't seem to find much information reguarding just how much of a donor 3.4l 4runner I can use for the swap. Like the transmission for instance, can I swap the 3.4l plus it's matching auto tranny into my 2nd gen 3.0l auto without needing different drive shafts? Is the 4wd compatible? What wiring changes would be necessary? I'm assuming the engine harness to the dash would require some adjustment and won't plug right in. Not looking for crazy in depth answers (unless you don't mind providing), I'm going to start a build thread when I get everything together in a few weeks.
Background on me: about 10 years experience working on, building, and modifying vehicles. From mild stuff to forced induction applications and late to old model engine swaps. Thing is, it was all Chevy based most of the time, LS1 into a 240sx, 383 strokers, HCI 350s, supercharged a 5.3l pickup, etc. Never owned or worked on a Toyota till now, though thus far have been quite impressed with the amount of knowledge and dedication to the vehicle Toyota owners have. I guess this can be considered my official introduction to the forum! Glad to be here. Now.. Start throwing knowledge at me.

Sorry, you might not want to hear this, but you obviously haven't done any research yet. Start with the sticky threads, including the "Swap 101" thread, and then every other sticky thread after that. Read my swap thread if you want to know about using the newer auto trans. We'll help you with specific question along the way.
