Time To Polish The Rig
Went shopping for polish, etc. at lunch today but couldn't find the Speed Shine or Griot's stuff Corey recommended.
I got the Claybar ($25 Cdn.) and Nu-Finish liquid polish ($10 Cdn.) and plan to do this tonight. I have used Nu-Finish in the past and it seemed to shine certainly better than TurtleWax stuff ($3 Cdn.).
I saw in a different forum post that a guy using Nu-Finish with black plastic surfaces had little white residue but my Runner's not black so I don't think that will be a problem.
Anyone have anything good or bad to say about the Nu-Finish product?

Hi Al, the Griot's stuff can only be purchased direct through them.
www.griots.com
Clay bar
Speed Shine
And if you don't have the Porter Cable buffer, you can give it a hand jobber with their clay bar hand holder
The pad works very much like the one I use with the Porter Cable.
I don't have any experience with the Nu Finish for many years.
I used it about 25 years or so ago a few times.
Did you get a lubricant to use with the clay bar?
Meguiar's has a liquid that will work in place of the Speed Shine.

Actually I just checked the box with the clay bar. It comes with lubricant and polish. Guess I'll try and return the Nu-Finish polish after work. This Clay Bar box has everything I need.

Oops...returned the Nu-Finish already, might try it next time. The polish that came with the clay bar was a tiny bottle only good for about 2 coats when you apply sparingly.
After doing the clay bar and polish combination, I must say the paint looks incredible! I've never seen it so shiny before. Went to the gas station while I was out and washed the windows. I saw the excess water from the squeegy hit the paint, become droplets and roll off as it should. I missed seeing that as opposed to having water cover the paint like a wet blanket.
This is the exact one that I purchased and I'd highly recommend it:

Yeah, I will have to look real hard to find this clay bar. Darn it! LOL. Phil, if you can't find a Porter Cable like Corey, I have a Turtle Wax 6" orbital polisher that we picked up at Home Depot. I love it. I used it once and it worked awesome! Maybe check it out. That will definitely save you time and pain in polishing your rig. :fireman:
