Idling too high

I have a 86 forerunner w/ a 22re motor. The engine idles at 1100 rpm.
is this an egr issue? Please advise. I have a smog check coming up soon.

I highly doubt it's the EGR. You'll generally get a low, crappy idle if the egr has issues. Start by looking for vacuum leaks ie all of those 20 year hoses. Also check timing and it might be worth cleaning the throttle body just in case it's binding from all of the typical black sludge build-up. Another factor is the dashpot sticking. That's actually an issue with my 84 at the present. It is the brass looking device with a plunger that slowly returns the throttle to its rest position. If all else fails, just adjust the idle back to spec

Idle screw ?

You can also just adjust the idle screw

Should be 750 rpm.
