Check out NWoffroad. They sell a lot of the parts you would need such as bellhousing and headers.
RJM has a plug-n-play wiring harness that would make wiring it up very easy (www.fordfuelinjection.com). I used their harness on a 5.0 I put in my trail rig.

I'm just about done with my 5.0 swap. With a 4" suspension lift, 3" body lift, bellhousing adapter and motor mounts it fit pretty good. I think if you went with the 3.4 you could get away without the lift, but if you already have the 5.0 I'd go for it..

its a bad ass setup if you can get everything to line up properly, the 5.0L i have is in there, its just the transmission that the previous owner messed up on... but it is possible with fabrication being involved...

I did because it was recently rebuilt, about 5k ago. when it goes i'll sell the bellhousing and get a bronco 5 spd and a t case adapter...when it goes... it seems to be doing pretty good right now. -- w56

I did this 5.0 swap in a 86 Toyota xtra cab and it was fun if you want to stay on road. I still had it IFS and when I got into any gravel it was like a boat anchor. I had to have it in 4x4 to go anywhere. It fit okay, but you have to use an electric fan to clear and you will need a custom radiator or spend a lot to get one that will keep the thing cool. Also just a side note, the w56 tranny can only handle about 200HP before you will run into problems. If you want more info just ask. I will be glad to help if you need.
