Ramsey Winches
I recently aqquired two Ramsey winches, an 8000lb and a 2500lb one. However when I picked them up, they did not have any instructions or the wiring harnesses (I got them for free, so what do you expect).
Checked the Ramsey website, sent a few emails, tried calling but I did not get ahold of them. I want to get the instruction manual for the winches to figure out how to install and the wiring diagrams.
Just wondering what people have heard about this brand, and wether or not Ramsey went out of business seeing as I have not been able to get ahold of them.
Thanks in advance,
Vic

Thanks guys,
I found the smaller one, but cannot find the larger winch in the manual area of the website, I think it is a really old one. The closest one I found is in the industrial winch area. Might be able to piece it all together from the other manuals tho.
Thanks again,
vic

The model number is 2000/12. I found it while I was cleaning the casing. Apparently this model was renamed the RE-8000. Cannot find a part number unfortunately. I think this one is the 24v version.
Thanks again
Oh as a side note, has anyone seen a winch mounted on a trailer hitch? Just thinking of mounting options.
Thanks,
Vic

Yes I have seen a winch mounted on a trailer hitch, they work really well, and you can remove them and leave them at home when you are using it, some winch companies make quick disconnect power lines for them too, my buddy has one on his chevy.

Sweet. I think that will be easier and cheaper than fabbing my own bumper mounting system. Not really a fan of buying things that I can build lol
Thanks
Vic
