SASing a 2001 runner

Can you guys help me understand what I need to do differently when straight axling a 2001 versus the previous years...every has said that it is much more difficult because of the electronics/tcase, and I will be daily driving this as well.
I have heard multiple people tell me different things...so people have said i would be fine with this tcase but wont be able to will it that hard, some have said i need a new tranny/tcase setup from a tacoma, i have read it's "IMPOSSIBLE" but nothings really impossible and i have seen them done

now along with that question, i have another, i have a "vsc off" and "vsc trac" light on all the time, along with everything else i have read, i read that i will lose the vsc and abs when straight axling without messing around with a whole bunch of electronic work done to get the speed sensors from the rear to be used as the front too or something to that affect...

any help would be extremely grateful, sorry if my explaining sucks hah

Nothing is impossible, you will need to either get an older style tcase and axle or you will need to find some other passenger diff front axle like a Waggy 44 or one of the Diamond front axles. It will be a lot more money and time than just a normal 2nd gen SAS.

This is a pretty good build.

Yeah his rig is super legit!

So if I get a tacoma chain driven tcase, I can use a passenger side drop, correct?
I also heard that I would need a new tranny aslo if I were to get a different tcase, is that true as well?

I am just trying to figure out if this is going to cost me more money that I thought it was because of all the electronics that are in the later model 3rd gens...and how much it would take for the electronics to work properly on road or would I lose a lot after its straight axled...

thanks for the reply!

The passenger side diff tcase is pre Tacoma trucks, you will need an adapter to bolt up the early style tcase to the back of your transmission

This one will work

As for the electronics, I cannot give you an answer as I don't know enough about the 3rd gen SAS to know I will be giving you the correct info.

2000 tacoma SAS, the electrical im pretty sure is the same and the only thing i lost was my ABS, but running 35.12.50s its not that easy to lock them up even without abs, I was going to go with the older grand wagoneer front axle, but i found that trailgear makes a custom axle that is pretty nice that has the driver side drop down and it has nice design to it.
