On road it 4wd? compress the suspension measure flange to flange, droop suspension the measure flange to flange. take measurements, a stock shaft ('85 is easiest, IFS the joint will need to be opened), and your debit card to a DL shop. Problem solved. Might want to go with a long slip.

I ordered the TG long slip HD shaft kit, and I am using an 85 Driveshaft.
If you do some searching, you will see the SFA driveline has 30 degrees of movement, where the IFS driveline has only 20. I have an IFS front driveline in my 87, and I can't use it unless I clearance it after only a 3" lift.

Call Dave at High Angle Drivelines. He will open the IFS joints to get much more angle from them. Is an article on 4x4wire here easier to search it for you than explain it http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota-tech/t...ncreased-angle. I Used an 85 for my front shaft and my 86 IFS for the rear, dual cases. The shafts pre85 have a different bolt size on the joint.

A HD extended slip spline like this
http://www.wabfab.org/Driveshaft-Kit...-products.html
can't be totally balanced for on road use, as it's not made to be.
If you don't know what you are doing, find someone local to build your driveshafts with the proper parts. My guy builds front and rear with parts I supply for $250-350 depending on job.
