Pictures from today's Indiana Badlands run...

had a great time- thanks for all the spotting!! With something other than my Wrangler ST tires, I probably would have had a lot more traction. I do miss my old 4Runner's rear locker, though!

The rear swaybar is an Addco and it unfortunately really limits flex. The front was disconnected. If you disconnect the rear, the swaybar link pokes the gas tank (bad design for off roaders) Here is a picture of a stock Grand Cherokee without Addcos:

Yeah, I knew the connected sway bars were the limiting factor, thus the " !" Now knowing it was an aftermarket sway bar really makes an additional difference as well.

Looks like there was a steep, snowy hill (http://community.webshots.com/photo/...63090629hPhtSt) in there too that looks like it could have been interesting.

Looks like Mike made it back alive. Did you guys have any problems on the way home? Also, how did you like the creek bed trail?

Ahh no worries, hehe. I have been looking at 2" Budget Boost suspension lifts and Goodyear MT/Rs ever since I got home... donate money if you want.

Mike did a great job on that hill. He made it up some stuff that more built rigs struggled on. He has a lead-foot.

I'm going to get now in order to forget that I can't afford a 2" lift and MT/Rs and a locker and an ARB and a partridge in a pear tree.

I agree on the lead foot. A locker would do him well.

Hey martin,

Makin it back was sad, because I wanted to wheel some more!!

We gotta make another spring run!

The creek bed was insane! I thought I was gonna have to change boxers a couple times, after we dropped into the pit, and ran up that TIGHT creek!

Mike,

It was very fun and you did very well for your first Badlands run. To bad we didn't get very many pictures of the one hill you climbed. We will have to make another run - most definately.

Martin

heheh. No plans soon. I liked driving my 4Runner off road more than my Jeep, but back on the highway there was no comparison- for me, at least. I could never get comfortable in the 4Runner. I suspect with the 2" BB and some Dueler AT Revos I would be able to keep up better. By the way, upon further inspection this morning, I realized that I didn't properly disconnect my front swaybars- so I was running with BOTH Addco swaybars connected! :pat:

In a couple of years, I plan to dump the Jeep for a nice car like a Passat or Jetta and pick up some sort of a dedicated off road vehicle. Thinking about a salvaged 3rd gen or Grand Cherokee ZJ.

Hey, it was nice meeting you all yesterday. Had a great time even though it was ridiculously cold and I couldnt feel my toes. I just watched the video and it makes me look forward to everyone planning a spring trip back up when it gets warmer. Thanks for the fun time and see you all in a month or so.

hey Krash,

checkout the badlands website ...
www.badlandsoffroad.com

THEN, meet us for a spring run!!

Fpkelly, it was great meeting you guys, that was a nice trail you took us on! can you post a vid? or some pics?

Good times! Next round Ill be there at 9:00 err 8. Stupid Eastern Time Zone.

Anyone else come out with damage? After ya'll left, I managed to give my ARB a nice size dent on the under side (note to self: dont listen to fpkelly's advice...he just wants something bad to happen for his video camera)

A tree also jumped out and bit my passenger-side rear door. Other that that and another 15 scratches...Im riding high

I think there will be a few scratches after I give her a good washing, I was going to do it today, but its snowing now, and the damn salt trucks are out EVERYWHERE since the last time it dropped a whopping 1/2" of snow there were 65 accidents reported :pat:

oh well the mudd looks cooler on the rig anyways

I just took the film in and it will be back on wed, so I'll try to post some pics then. I have a test wed night, so posting offroad pics will be nice and relaxing!

Oh Poboy, I didnt want anything bad to happen on the video camera. I wanted it to happen in front of me and catch it on film as a bonus! Now I need to get a video capture card so I can put parts of this on my PC and email them out....
