Most trailer shop/installers should carry one like that too.
Thanks, Corey. My dealer gave me the mount gratis. P/N is PT228-89445, described as Ball Mount Assy. 375N/706N 2.0. I've seen similar at G.I. Joes for around $30-$40. The locking pin wasn't part of the deal, it was a spare in the toolbox.

Good luck getting your VIN soon. I'm leaving for an extended trip tomorrow, so let me congratulate you in advance. Happy trails...

i like the idea of making a bracket to attach to the spare tire holder , it would be fairly simple . jsut need ot do some looking and measuring. i havent bee nto the dunes in oregon since i was in the seccond grade, and then i almost broke my leg driving an odessey LOL. ill do some measuring and make some drawings and see what comes up. ill be making some .22 targets soon and im sure ill have some extra metal laying around.

OK, where can I localy pick up one of these Firestik flag masts?

Bob, did find a site that makes custom flags.
http://dwflags.server345.com/store/index.php

If you submit a pirate picture to them, I am sure they can make you one.
I looked through their selection, and only saw a few scull & crossbone ones.

And...I found a local shop just down from the Toyota dealer that carries the Firestik flag staffs.

They have all the colors and sizes in stock.

I will have my FJC accessorized before it is even built

Bob, the flag came today, and it mounts to the Firestik pole perfectly.
Barbara includes a small hose clamp and tie, but it is not needed.
Just remove the red tip from the pole, and slip the new flag on.
You will have to move the Firestik black grommet on the pole down a few inches to accommodate the bigger flag.

New flag compared to stock flag

New flag only

Heavy duty spring & quick disconnect

Spring and pole/quick disco separated

I ordered last week from www.walcottcb.com the hd spring and quick disco, and they came yesterday.

The quick disconnect

The heavy duty spring

You can also order the same spring without the two electrical connectors shown.
I goofed on my order

Now all I have to do is take my old hitch shank from my '90 truck I pulled the tent trailer with, take the ball off, and get a longer bolt like Bob did and some big washers for it.

Oh, I also need an FJ Cruiser

Very nice setup, Corey. I'm ordering the identical YotaTech flag to represent at an Oregon Dunes run next month.

Yeah, I wound up getting an extra long bolt and stack of washers from Home Depot for my spring mount. I used two each bottom and top for a secure fit.

Thanks...
I have an old hitch, but it has a 2" ball on it.
I think the bolt hole is way to big.

The Tacoma hitch you got, I take it has a much smaller hole?

The flag ought to look good on your rig!

The new mount does have a hole for a 2" ball and came with a removable brass collar adapter for a 1 7/8" ball. Those flat washers from HD did the trick, all 36¢ worth.

Bob, you ever talk to the flag lady about getting a pirate one made up?

Also I just got done getting a longer bolt and filed out some washers I had laying around, used my hitch from 1990 when I had my Xtracab truck.

Used the quick disconnect and spring, and tested out my flag.
Looks good, but it sure looks like it can flop around quite a bit, even more than my 4' CB antenna since the flag mast is 7' long.

I wonder if it might be better to skip the spring?

Sounds like a different spring than the ultra-stiff stock spring on mine. It hardly moves even at speed with the supplied flag. It might need a couple extra washers top and bottom. There shouldn't be any slop in the mount. Most everyone here recommends a spring, so I hope you can make yours work, those Firesticks are spendy.

Corey, after looking at your links again, it appears that you have a spring made for a 5' max antenna. The flag spring definitely seems beefier. Maybe you can exchange it for the proper spring and QD.

This is my spring, the HD Firestik one, just like the spring I use for the 4' antenna I had mounted on the ARB.

Link to your spring?
I have a $20 QD, one of the best ones out.

I was just gathering the links. Looks like the flag spring is a little taller than the HD antenna spring, but the same 20mm OD. Go to Mounts/Springs. Different P/N's too. Maybe a thicker gauge wire in the flag spring?

Hmmmm, I wonder where I can get one?
They do not sell direct.
I do not think my online CB shop carries the flag spring, only the antenna one.

I got mine at a local motorcycle/ATV dealership. The spring was included on the mast. Here's a shopping link from the Firestick site with a few other online and retailers listed.

Hmmm, it lists Walcott, my online CB shop.
I can also try Bent Bike in my town where I got the pole from.

Thanks Bob.
