Taillight/brake light issue

I'm not too great with electrical/wiring stuff, like most people, so bear with me. What kind of screwed up wiring would cause the brake lights to work fine with the light switch "OFF" but make the driver's side taillight/brakelight -DIM- when brakes are pressed when switch is to "ON"?

A trailer light hookup? If the truck has one, rip it out and see what happens.

One of the filaments in the bulb is burned out. I hope thats the issue.

But uh...HAHA...I figured out why the taillight LOOKS retarded and is duct-taped in..... Its a passenger's side housing taped into the driver's side. Hahaha..... :\
