Remote Starter / Keyless Entry Recommendations

I am thinking about putting in a Remote Start / Keyless Entry system in my 1991 4Runner. I am wondering what brand of system people recommend. I am also wondering if people recommend self-installation or professional installation.

Thanks!

I am looking at the Commando EZ-2500 versus the Bulldog RS1200E. Any suggestions?

DEI Valet 561r is one of the better units on the market for the money.
Every bulldog alarm/keyless I have messed with has been a pos.
I know nothing about the Commando EZ-2500 but the remotes look cheaply made in the pics I could find of it.

If you can follow instructions then a self-install is fairly simple. I'd recommend it. Of course nowadays most new alarms/starters come with a free install but maybe you could get them to drop the price even more if you did it yourself

here are all the wire colors and locations you need to tap into. It takes time to properly splice your wires and then setting up the unit after it is installed is straight forward if you follow the directions

dei and clifford (and python, and every serpant type) is the same brand (i think..i dont work at the factory or anything, but i heard this from stores)...

anyways
i also have a clifford, (on a bmw) and its been perfect for 2 decades...also comes w/lifetime warranty..

its survived dead batteries, jump starts, -40 degree weather, and high humidity..
