power inverter help
Anyone know any methods how to hardwire an 800 watt power inverter? and what is the perfect location for it? tell me waht i need. Plugging it into the ciggerette lighter socket gets in the way.

You need the same gauge as the wire that has the plug on it...some sauter, some heat shrink, run the whole wire through the firewall, then plug onto battery, mount inverter wherever youd like...Oh, Dont forget an inline fuse, Good luck..

On my 3rd Gen 4Runner, I mounted my 1000 watt inverter (1500 watt peak) under the driver's seat (bolted to floor), with the receptacles pointing out towards the driver's door. I ran the wires under the center console, under the dash, and out into the engine bay through the existing hole in the firewall just behind the blower fan. I installed a 150 amp inline blade fuse that I mounted to the firewall in the engine bay, the I connected it to my aux battery (which sits on the passenger side wheel-well in the engine bay).
