:::: Disclaimer :::: doing what I did in the pictures below is dangerous. I was young, ignorant, and at times downright stupid. If you're going to put HIDs in your rig, do it THE RIGHT WAY! Use projectors specifically designed for HID lamps. All the information you will ever need to do a PROPER retrofit can be found at: www.hidplanet.com and for parts to actually do the retrofit: www.theretrofitsource.com
After I blew ballasts and bulbs in this setup constantly, I finally rewired my headlights with 12awg wire, some good quality Bosch relays, and used Osram Nightbreaker +90 bulbs in my Hella E-code housings. The halogen output was clearer, sharper, AND more usable than the H.I.D. kit shown below. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT I DID!
I now have a QUALITY H.I.D. setup: FXr projectors, custom wiring harness, and modified housings to accept the projectors. The output is AMAZING. It is crisp, clear, sharp, and WIDE! The width alone is incredible, I light up from in the woods on one side of the road all the way to the other, and the cutoff is so sharp that nobody ever thinks I have my high beams on. When I do have my high beams on, it's like a wall of light emitted from the front of my Pickup.
DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME! Consider this your warning! Don't make the same stupid mistakes that I did!
Pics of the old PnP kit. It sucked, now that I've "seen the light!"
