Dome light only works when passener door open?
I have weird problems with this truck's electrical system (86 pickup xtra cab). Most of the problems were solved by removing the REALLY POORLY INSTALLED alarm system, but there's still a slight issue with the dome light.
when I open the passenger door, the door light comes on, and the dome light comes on, like normal. When I open the driver's door, the key light, and the door light come on, but the dome light doesn't.
Does anybody have a wiring diagram, or has an idea of where to start looking?

Does the buzzer work when your driver door is open with key in the ignition? If not, then plug it back in. The annoying buzzer and dome light door pin are wired together. Check this buzzer kill link to get the best of both worlds.

i am having the same issue in my 86 runner. i have yet to tear into it due to a hand injury but the first place i am going to look is the door pin. check yours to see if it has corossion on it or something from preventing it from making contact on the back when the door opens
