Smile 1995 4 runner water temp sensor A cicuit

On my 1995 4Runner - V6, I've been tracing /repairing a string of AC problems. Now down to one -- the system will operate properly ONLY if # 3 terminal (pink) is grounded. This wire goes to the water temperature switch - it had a broken wire but the switch is also bad. If I ground the wire the system works/cycles properly - My question is can this sensor be bypassed - it looks like a PITA to get to or can someone give me the correct Toyota part number for this sensor, you wouldn't believe the hassle I ha dtring to get the cutoff relay - which all the dealers were telling me was in the engine compartment and not behind the glove box where I removed mine from.
Any help would be appreciated - THANKS

Probably be OK as long as you keep an eye on the engine temps with the A/C running. If the engine temps start to creep up out of it's normal range with A/C on, you may need to shut off the A/C to let the engine cool down if needed. A/C amplifier has always been behind the glove box on the Toyota trucks, at least on the 1st and 2nd gens, a factory Service Manual would show the part location.
